A Church and Green we design buildings and structures, combining aesthetics, functionality, and safety. We create detailed plans, oversee Building control, and ensure that designs meet client needs, building codes, and environmental considerations.
Dwelling Design
At Church and Green all of our house types have a bespoke design to meet the requirements of our clients as well as the sites opportunities and constraints and local and national standards.


Building Control Applications
Post planning, Church and Green offer structural and Architectural drawing packages along with management and submissions to local Building control.
Once planning permission has been achieved, before you can build, There are two key types of building control applications. You will need to decide which application is best for your preferences:
1. Building Control Notice
No plans are required and you can start work within 48 hours with the notice being valid for three years.
With no detailed drawings and limited or no structural information, builders will only be able to give indicative costing for the project build which could be subject to change.
You will need to be confident that the build will comply with current building regulations.
2. Full Plans Submission
Conversion of planning drawing to more detailed sets of drawings along with supporting structural information. Contractors then have a clear set of drawing instructions to follow.
Plans and documents are required before work starts, showing appropriate construction details.
Gaining approval via full plans submission allows contractors to give more accurate costing and timescales.
Building Control plans are approved first before you
can start work the with a decision being issued within eight weeks from submission.






Household Applications
We understand that your home will need to be adapted to fit your family living situation and personal preferences.
Within household extensions are sets of planning rules and regulations within national government and each local Authority that must be followed.
Planning can be made a complicated process if the wrong strategy is taken from the outset. At Church and Green we will present a strategy and design route that is both desirable but realistic.
We can provide a start to finish service that involves an initial site visit to discuss the clients needs and then a building survey and initial design ideas to formulate a set of planning drawings that we will submit and manage through its eight week determination period.
Following a decision we can advise you on the next steps of either new applications, Appeal or Building control drawing applications for development.
We have a network of consultants and contractors that support us with pre-development and the build allowing us to meet the expectations of our clients.
